Welcome to my website! I'm in my 29th year teaching for DC West (I began at Waterloo Public School).
As the Middle School Library/Media Specialist I'm very excited to be teaching, for the third year, a class to 6th graders called Media and Research Skills! I'll also be teaching Media and Research Skills to 7th Graders this year.
I love photography, so you'll probably see a camera in my hand often, especially at sporting events, since my greatest challenge is capturing action shots at DCWest sporting events!! I share my passion for photography with yearbook students since I'm also the Middle School Yearbook sponsor.
I'll be in the Library/Media Center every afternoon to assist students and teachers. Please feel free to contact me at any time!
Originally from Buffalo, NY, I received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and French and a Master's degree as a Library/Media Specialist at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. I began my teaching career in Mentor, Ohio. I then worked as an elementary Media Specialist for Omaha Public Schools for a number of years.
My husband is an actuary who also teaches math at Metro Community College (and is a Shrine Clown and a clown who also volunteers at hospitals and nursing homes). We have two daughters (one a graphic designer & screen printer, and the other a pharmacist & fiddle player in an Irish Band), and an adorable granddaughter who's 3! We also have a gorgeous rescued tuxedo cat named Sonny.
