DC West Schools is a wonderful school, I began working here in 1991 and I love my job, the students and families.   My philosophy in education is to always be a student of my students.  I have served in a variety of capacities.  First as a Title One teacher, then a fourth grade teacher.  As a fourth grade teacher, in the year 1997, students led the statewide process of changing how legislature selects state symbols. We changed history.  Valley students were successful in lobbying for the channel catfish to become an official Nebraska state symbol, under Governor Ben Nelson.  My current role is a K-4 HAL teacher, combined with the K-12 District Assessment Leadership position.

I love learning and have maintained academic growth.  I am a Fremont High graduate with my Bachelors from Wayne State College; a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane; Assessment Leadership Endorsement and Curriculum Specialist with Administrative Supervision Degrees, from the University of Lincoln.  Ladies in history who have inspired me include:  Annie Sullivan, Sacajawea and the Biblical character, Ruth.

My husband, James A. Perry,  is employed at Valmont Industries.  We have two children and seven grandchildren.
